17 - Never Let Go of a Black-Haired Dad
Chapter 17. Don't Call Yourself a Scoundrel Unless You've Dated a Hundred Lovers (5)
After concluding the conversation, we moved to the spacious veranda next door. Fireworks were erupting all over the Imperial Palace, making it a scene of utter chaos.
To think you were trying to have breakfast while watching this bloody spectacle. Our Lorowi really has a strong stomach.
But while Lorowi's stomach was strong, mine wasn't bad either. As I sat down, picked up the silverware, and elegantly sliced the steamed fish, my aunt was shocked and grabbed me by the scruff of my neck.
"Your Highness."
"Huh?"
"Why are you eating so normally now?"
"What are you talking about? Let's eat."
Isn't it rude to talk and grab people by the neck during a meal?
I looked at my aunt with pity and clicked my tongue, and she clutched her head in anguish.
"Those Lorowi guys are always so noisy."
"Aunt, don't show your Lorowi side. It's embarrassing."
"Hey, Kiron, tell me honestly. Did you have an affair with my sister?"
What is this aunt saying, so embarrassing.
I don't know what Kazelnu Lorowi was thinking, but she grabbed my face and looked back and forth between me and Beomgol. She was hysterical, saying that if we weren't having an affair, why did we say such similar annoying things... It was absurd.
We don't look alike at all, so how could she say such a thing?
"I have something to announce, though it's one-sided."
"Huh?"
Beomgol, you've decided to ignore my aunt. How wise.
"I'm going to change the education supervisor of Vishnavel. I shouldn't have kept a Lorowi by my side."
"Eeeeeek."
Either way, my aunt was weak against me, so skipping class and running away was so easy.
"Hey! Who do you think you are, changing Visha's education supervisor as you please!"
"The emperor of this country and Vishnavel's official father."
"Stop saying the right things!"
My aunt wants to cry from embarrassment. Choco must be listening to everything outside, holding his stomach and laughing.
I couldn't lift my head, so I mumbled and asked who he was going to change the teacher to, and Beomgol said something crazy.
"The head court lady, who was in charge of the blockhead's education, was very enthusiastic."
The head court lady, you mean that old woman who manages all the maids and servants in the Imperial Palace? Absolutely not!
"Your Majesty."
"She said she had already thought about the personnel and could start classes tomorrow."
"Your Majesty!"
No! I hate that old woman!
'Beomgol, you saw it too! You heard that old woman call me a venomous thing! She made such a mess of the blockhead's education, how could that old hag teach me well?' I wanted to argue fluently, but my tongue was stiff, and I could only strongly express my refusal.
"Your Majestyyyyy!"
"At my suggestion, I've added imperial studies, economics, and philosophy to your classes."
"......?"
What nonsense. Why would a five-year-old learn that?
My aunt was genuinely dumbfounded and asked Beomgol if he was crazy, kindly informing him that I hadn't even learned all my letters yet.
Regardless, Beomgol elegantly drank his after-meal black tea and mocked me, saying that Vishnavel, with half Lorowi blood, was indeed a blockhead.
"How could a kid who can't even read letters have read 'Martin's Republic Dialogue'?"
"......"
"She even understands the content. The fact that she cursed me for imprisoning her after reading such a thing is proof of that."
Oops! I blurted it out because I thought I'd never see him again!
In an instant, the blood drained from my fingertips, and cold sweat streamed down my back.
No, this can't happen. If I stay still like this, I'll have to live diligently again.
If it's the head court lady, she won't let me slack off. Of course, I'll find a way to run away as always, but that will take effort.
That old hag wasn't easy to deal with. It wouldn't be easy to skip class and run away.
I closed my eyes tightly and made a decision.
That's it. There's no other way.
I'll pretend to be stupid.
I can pretend to be stupid!
"Matiiin? Republiic? What's that? Visha only read children's bookss!"
"It's too late to act dumb."
"Butterfliess! Butterfliess! Butterfly, pretty! Butterfliess! Daddy, catch butterfly for mee!"
"I have a council meeting, so I'll be going now."
"Butterfliess! Daddy, catch butterfly for mee! Hey, you idiot! Are you deaf! Listen to mee!"
"Lorowi is banned from entering the Princess Palace for a week."
Ah, no... This guy is really leaving.
This Beomgol is really going to throw imperial studies, economics, and philosophy at me and leave!
Feeling a sense of crisis, I quickly lay down in front of my show window dad. And I screamed.
"Your Majestyyyyy! Study, noooo! I don't want to take Your Highness's class! Catch butterfly for mee!"
Then Beomgol gracefully jumped over me and walked towards the audience chamber. I wriggled up again, tears welling up in my eyes, and clung to Beomgol's leg.
"Nooo! Nooo, don't go! I hate studying! I don't want to do it!"
This heartless bastard kept walking, dragging me along whether I clung to his ankle or not. As I slid across the carpet, I regained my posture and tightly hugged Beomgol's thighs and calves.
"Beomgolaaaaa! Daddyyyyy! Waaaaah! I don't want to studyyyyy! Your Majestyyyyy! I'm gonna dieeeee! Aaaaaaaah!"
Beomgol finally entered the audience chamber with me hanging on him. The officials were flustered by my wails echoing through the chamber. I lay down in front of the throne and cried.
"Today is the day I see my first official business as emperor. Let's begin."
"Waaaaah! Catch butterfly for mee! I hate studyingyyyy!"
"If there are no reports, I will go attend to personal matters."
Beomgol completely ignored me, and the officials turned their eyes away from me, who was crying, and reported the stories from each department.
It was only when the head court lady's turn to speak came that I, exhausted from crying, fell asleep.
✦ ✦ ✦
Di-rong, di-rong.
I was snoring when I suddenly realized I was snoring and woke up with a start. I quickly looked around and saw that I was on the bed in my room.
"Gyaooo! Gyaooo!"
In the end, I didn't get Beomgol to withdraw the class. I was upset and sad, so I tore at the blanket and rolled around, when a familiar man standing among Helbatro and the maids presented me with a glass box.
"Your Highness! His Majesty ordered me to give this to you when you wake up!"
He was one of the men who had been newly assigned as guards to the Princess Palace the other day.
"Uwaaah?"
What is this? Is he giving me medicine after giving me the disease? Is he trying to appease me with a gift after giving me classes?
Inside the glass box, there was soil, stones, and some plants. It was like a miniature diorama of a garden, so it was pretty, but...
"Uh..."
It's a butterfly.
Huh? No way, did he catch a butterfly because I asked him to catch one?
"Beomgol, I mean, Daddy, said he had personal matters to attend to."
"Yes. He went straight to the Imperial Palace greenhouse after the council meeting. He said that's the only place butterflies would be in this season."
"Omo, omo."
Why is this Beomgol being so kind?
Oh my, oh my. Does he think I'll forgive him if he does this?
He caught a butterfly because I asked him to catch one. Oh my! He's crazy, really.
"Hehe, hehe."
"I will tell His Majesty that Her Highness the Princess was very pleased!"
"When did I ever!"
Hehe, when did I say I liked it?
Beomgol won't like it if you tell such a lie. Just tell him I appreciated the gesture, hehe.
"Helbatro! Bring me some colored paper and a pen!"
"Yes, Your Highness!"
I wrote a simple sentence on the most expensive gold glitter paper I had.
-Thank you for the butterfly. Now, please just cancel the class.
After writing the concise message, I blew on the ink to dry it and folded the paper.
He must have thought I was an idiot who couldn't even fold a paper fan the other day. I can fold not only fans, but also butterflies and frogs!
To let him know that, I folded a butterfly and a frog as a bonus and entrusted them to the guard.
"Tell His Majesty to take this."
"Yes! I will obey your command!"
He's the new emperor, and the Imperial Palace is still in disarray, so I can't tell Beomgol to come and go as I please.
As I sent the guard out, Helbatro suggested putting the glass box next to the bed while holding it.
Of course, I shook my head. The maids asked a foolish question, saying that it was a gift from His Majesty and that it would be nice to keep the pretty butterfly close by, but I answered honestly.
"Looking at it up close, it's gross."
Ugh... I hate bugs.
Butterflies are bugs after all, so if you look at them up close, they look like bugs. Butterflies are prettiest when you look at them from afar.
I ordered them to take care of the food and watch it, and then release it into the greenhouse in a few days, and put on my coat.
I'm going to go cycling according to the schedule I set in the morning.
