130 - Evil Husband (15th Anniversary Edition) Chapter 130

It was a simple, unadorned request. Yet, Aileen couldn't move. Her body stiffened as if she had received an undeniable command.
The heat from the hand gripping her wrist was intense. For a moment, she worried that it might be due to a fever from the wound, but the concern quickly dissipated.
Observing Cesare's injury over the past few days, Aileen had realized that her nursing was meaningless. She worried about possible infection and disinfected and treated the wound, but ultimately, it was just an act to ease her own mind. Cesare's recovery didn't require any medicine or intervention.
Aileen tried to free herself from his grip. However, the hand holding her firmly showed no intention of letting go.
She tugged a few times, but his grip was unyielding. It wasn't enough to bruise her wrist, but it was enough to restrain Aileen. Eventually, Aileen murmured weakly.
"You don't need me..."
She whispered the words and closed her lips. She smelled a bitter herbal scent from him. Cesare was always surrounded by the smell of gunpowder or blood, but now, only the scent of herbs and a faint aroma resembling a cool forest reached her.
The surroundings were quiet. Only the sound of slow breathing filled the silent room. She was still held by the wrist.
If she continued to avoid him, it felt like they would stay like this forever. She didn't have the courage to meet his eyes, but she had even less confidence in continuing to stay in the same space.
After hesitating, Aileen finally carefully raised her head, which she had been keeping down. As if waiting for it, their eyes met.
They finally faced each other, but neither Cesare nor Aileen opened their lips. They just looked at each other.
The bedroom was dark at night. Even though it was brightly lit with lamps, it wasn't as bright as the sunlight during the day. Aileen murmured in a slightly smaller voice.
"Let go of me."
But Cesare only tilted his head slightly to the side. He looked at Aileen with a slanted gaze. He stared at Aileen's tightly closed lips for a while before speaking.
"What should I do to appease your anger?"
Aileen tried not to put resentment in her gaze as she looked at him. The wrist that had been held was slowly released. His hand, which had brushed up her forearm, lightly cupped her cheek.
Aileen moved her lips. There were still many things she wanted to say to Cesare. Even talking for three days and nights wouldn't be enough.
But now she knew it was futile. No matter what she said to him, it wouldn't be accepted.
She didn't know what it was for, but he had already set his goal and was steadily achieving it. He wouldn't change his choice just because of her.
"...Please."
All Aileen could do was barely utter the most desperate request.
"Don't get hurt."
Tears welled up in her eyes. Tears rolled down her cheek and wet the hand that cupped her face.
"Promise me you won't get hurt carelessly."
She thought she would look pathetic begging with tears in her eyes. But Aileen couldn't hold back her tears.
No matter how she tried to persuade him, she wouldn't be able to stop him from going the path he was going to take. But even knowing it was impossible, she wanted to stand in Cesare's way.
Despite her desperate request, Cesare didn't answer. He just looked at Aileen for a long time, then slowly came in for a kiss.
Aileen now knew all too well that his kiss was an answer of refusal. Aileen swallowed her sobs and accepted his lips. The kiss mixed with tears tasted salty.
When Aileen sniffled and hid her tongue inside, he chased after her and tormented her. The soft flesh mingled, making a wet sound.
Cesare gently brushed the roof of her mouth, making Aileen swallow her saliva. When Aileen swallowed the saliva that had filled her mouth, he sucked on her lips as if praising her.
Even the kiss felt sad, and she cried even more. Her heart was filled with resentment towards Cesare, and it felt like it would burst.
Cesare slowly pulled his lips away and comforted Aileen.
"Don't cry."
Aileen wiped away her tears with her hands.
"Hic, always like this... If you don't want to talk, just kiss..."
She wanted to say logically that he always glossed over things with physical affection, but the words that came out were rambling. However, it was enough for Cesare to understand.
Cesare frowned slightly as Aileen sniffled. A hint of embarrassment flashed across his crimson eyes. He hadn't realized that he had been suppressing conversations with physical affection.
Aileen glanced at Cesare with reddened eyes, observing his embarrassment.
Just as he had tried to dispose of the servant who had attempted to poison her in front of young Aileen in the past, Cesare had a part of him that was indifferent to others.
In a way, it was natural. He was always in a position to give orders, not to comfort or coax someone.
Aileen was the only exception that Cesare treated with some consideration. Cesare often comforted Aileen, who cried a lot.
When Aileen was young, he would stop her from crying by giving her snacks, sweets, her favorite books, or playing with her.
But now Aileen had grown into an adult, and the same methods no longer worked. Thus, the means that Cesare unconsciously chose was physical affection.
Just as Aileen had an epiphany, Cesare let out a low sigh.
"...Oh dear."
He revealed his embarrassment without hiding it and kissed Aileen again. It wasn't a deep kiss. He just briefly touched his lips to hers and whispered.
"What should I use to comfort you now?"
Aileen had nothing to say when he readily admitted it. As she stared at him with wide eyes, his lips touched her eyes.
His soft tongue brushed against her wet eyelashes and the corners of her eyes. Aileen flinched at the ticklish sensation, but Cesare didn't back down and gently licked away her tears.
His lips then moved to her ear. He bit the tip of her ear, which was already red, and slid his tongue along the rim of her ear.
The squelching sound seemed to be transmitted directly to her eardrum, and goosebumps rose all over her body. Aileen shuddered and twisted her head, trying to escape his tongue, but it was no use as he immediately chased after her.
"What should I do to appease my lady's anger?"
Cesare pushed his tongue into her ear and then pulled it out. The movement of going in and out of the narrow hole was quite similar to other acts, and her face flushed.
"Huh? Aileen."
Aileen covered one ear with her hand and looked at Cesare, her face completely red.
"If you promise not to get hurt. If you promise not to do anything dangerous like this time... Ah!"
Her body fell onto the bed. Cesare nimbly climbed on top of Aileen. Aileen was startled and tried to push Cesare away, but she dropped her hands helplessly at the words he said.
"It hurts."
Aileen neatly folded her hands in front of her chest as if she had been handcuffed. Then, she looked at the man lying on top of her with trembling eyes.
"You can't do this. The wound will open."
Aileen said urgently, constantly glancing at his shoulder, wondering if blood would seep out of the bandage. But Cesare didn't seem to be paying much attention.
Although Cesare's body had an abnormally fast recovery rate, it still took time to recover. The shallow scratch on his palm healed quickly, but this gunshot wound had completely penetrated his shoulder, so he said it would take a week to heal completely.
It would be a disaster if the wound festered. Of course, it would heal cleanly again, but Aileen didn't want Cesare to feel pain for a long time.
No, she desperately hoped that he wouldn't be in pain, even if it was only for a very short moment.
She was checking Cesare's shoulder, making eye contact with him on top of her, and thinking about how to persuade him, who didn't seem to have any intention of moving, so her head felt like it was about to explode.
Her mind was a mess, not knowing what to do. Her overloaded brain creaked, and a strange word popped out of her mouth.
"I, I'll get on top!"
It was a word she blurted out in a hurry to change the position. But when she said it, something felt strange. It seemed to feel strangely because of the sensual atmosphere that surrounded the bedroom.
Aileen looked down at Cesare, panting heavily. He grabbed Aileen's waist with both hands.
Aileen's heart tightened at the crimson eyes that held the lamplight. Strangely enough, she felt a sense of desperation in his eyes as he looked up at her...
Just as Aileen was scolding herself for having such ridiculous delusions, Cesare opened his mouth. He apologized in a calm voice.
"I was wrong, Aileen."
