The Squirrel Will Raise The Baby Tiger [Novel]

I learned far too early in life that things rarely go as planned.

“Here, hold your twentieth younger sibling.”

***

Lurubel Derams is the eldest daughter of the squirrel family, renowned for their loving and harmonious household.

She has more younger siblings than links in a string of sausages, a father who works himself to the bone as a butler, and a mother who can barely manage to put work aside despite her frail health.

But even when life lets her down, the eldest daughter of the Derams family still heads to work today.

“You’ve heard the rumors, haven’t you? They say Duke Kun Russell Blantiger was granted his title because his eldest brother died on the battlefield. I heard he later adopted his only nephew. That must be why he’s looking for a tutor.”

Duke Kun Russell Blantiger. The man known as the King of the North.

He was an aristocrat among aristocrats, wielding the formidable power of a grand ducal house.

“Oh, but how could an inadequate teacher like me possibly work in such a strict household…?”

If she carelessly stepped into a place like that, she might never make it out in one piece. She needed to be cautious.

“They say the salary is fifty gold coins.”

“Where do I need to go?”

“Have you ever considered getting married?”

“I have absolutely no intention of getting married. I want to keep working at Blan Castle for a very, very long time!!”

“Then how about getting engaged to me?”

Pardon…? What did I just hear?
