Chapter 3
# 3
- The Baron family's Crazy Master (3)
Isabella approached the window and drew back the curtains, allowing a stream of light that had been blocked to illuminate the room. When she opened the window, a cool breeze rushed in, finally allowing me to breathe.
Opposite the window, in a corner untouched by the light, stood a bed. And on it, the sheet was raised in a rounded shape. Seeing an arm protruding from under the sheet, I realized it was a person.
Isabella approached the bed. The sheet twitched and slowly retreated. But there was no space to escape.
"Are you awake, Master?"
"……Get out."
A hoarse voice filled with anger flowed out. Isabella respectfully clasped her hands together and said,
"I will bring in your dinner. I have prepared something easy for you to eat, so please eat it all for your health."
"Get out!"
The round form moved quickly and grabbed a vase from the bedside table, throwing it. Isabella tilted her head slightly, and the vase, which brushed right past her, shattered as it hit the floor.
I was so shocked that my mouth hung open, but Isabella remained indifferent.
"I will bring a new vase."
"I don't need it. Don't come."
"And I have brought a child who will serve you from now on."
Isabella gestured to me. Until then, I had been standing by the door, shocked, but I composed myself and stood next to her.
The person on the bed, seen up close, was larger than I had thought. And he was an adult man. Although his face was completely covered, I could guess from the voice I had heard a moment ago and the shape I had glimpsed.
"N-Nice to meet you, Master."
"This child will attend to you from now on. If you need anything, please tell this child. I will prepare it immediately."
"Please take care of me."
I clasped my hands together, placed them on my stomach, and bowed. But the only answer I heard was:
"Get lost."
Moreover, it came back even more harshly.
I flinched and glanced up at Isabella. She continued speaking without paying any attention.
"I will bring your dinner."
She turned towards the door. Her gait was unchanged from when she had arrived. Even though my heart was pounding with shock, I secretly admired Isabella's composure and quickly turned to follow her, but then.
Suddenly, a fingertip reached out and fumbled for the knife on the plate on the bedside table. Discovering him slowly picking up the knife, I turned back in surprise.
"You could die if you get hit by that!"
I tried to grab his hand. But perhaps because I had rushed out, I hadn't looked down.
My body slipped on the sheet that was lying on the floor. Uh? Uh? In the meantime, my vision was turned upside down. The hand waving in the air seemed to grab something.
Something fell on top of me as I fell backward. Before I could feel the pain of hitting the back of my head on the floor, a heavy weight pressed down on my chest. I gasped, stuck out my tongue, and squeezed my eyes shut.
"Master!"
At Isabella's urgent cry, I realized that the person who had fallen on me was the master, Vincent.
Surprised, I opened my eyes wide. I saw a face right in front of me. Thick eyebrows and emerald eyes beneath them, a prominent nose, rough, full lips, a handsome face that people would turn to look at at least once, as they say. I was so dumbfounded that I couldn't help but stammer.
But something was strange. Vincent, who seemed as surprised as I was, suddenly looked around. His emerald eyes were directed at irrelevant places.
No, on closer inspection, the color of his eyes was a bit strange. They had a slightly whitish tint.
His hands reached towards my face. When his long fingertips touched the hair covering my face, I was startled and pushed him away, backing away. Only then did I realize what I had done.
I quickly examined Vincent, but he, having fallen backward, was now groping the floor. His touch was quite urgent.
Sensing something was wrong, I narrowed my eyes, and Isabella supported Vincent. Vincent's hands groped for Isabella, who was hurriedly helping him up. Then he hesitated and straightened his body. Even then, his face was turning this way and that.
Just like.
"His eyes……."
Like a person who couldn't see.
At that, the face that had been turning quickly stopped abruptly. Isabella glared at me sharply. Only then did I realize that I had made a slip of the tongue.
Before I could say anything in embarrassment, Vincent's face turned fierce. Soon after, he let out a loud scream and began throwing things at me as he grabbed them.
Crash! Bang! Thud! I was helpless against the indiscriminate attack. I tried to raise my arms to block the attack, but it was useless. Isabella, who had already come to my side, grabbed my arm and pulled me up. As if she were used to this situation, Isabella didn't even show any surprise, and I followed behind her in a fluster.
The commotion stopped only after we came out of the room and Isabella closed the door. I clutched my pounding heart. My heart, which usually didn't startle easily, was racing.
"He is very sensitive. Please be careful in the future. Especially watch your mouth."
"……Yes."
At my answer, Isabella turned away without saying anything. Watching her walk away, I sighed. I had a feeling that my life here would not be easy.
And that day, I ended the day with the meal I had brought being overturned by Vincent. My room was right next to Vincent's. Usually, the rooms of servants and masters are on different floors, but I was told to stay in the next room so that I could be called at any time. Damn it.
Still, for the first time in my life, I fell asleep on a soft bed, covered with clean blankets. I woke up a few times in the middle of the night because of strange noises, but it was a satisfying sleep nonetheless.
The next day, I dressed properly, brought breakfast, and got hit in the face with a pillow.

Vincent Bellunita.
He is the master I will be serving from now on.
The only child of the highly regarded Baron family, he attracted attention from a young age with his beautiful appearance and was recognized for his abilities in various fields due to his extraordinary intelligence. Moreover, the Baron and his wife had a good relationship, and they were a happy and harmonious family that everyone envied.
Then, due to an unforeseen accident, the Baron and his wife passed away, and Vincent Bellunita, who was left alone, inherited the family at a young age. There were many rumors in the world that he was too young to take responsibility for the family, but contrary to expectations, Vincent led the family admirably. Thanks to this, the family's power grew day by day.
……That was the happy past.
One day, tragedy struck him.
It was a party hosted by the royal family. The smooth party turned into chaos when a man ran at him with a knife. The man was a servant of the Bellunita family. Fortunately, Vincent had guards by his side, so the injuries were minor, but the strange medicine that the assassin sprayed into his eyes became a problem.
At first, his eyes were only a little sore. Then, gradually, his vision became blurred, and he could not distinguish shapes. At some point, the light disappeared, and darkness descended.
It was blindness.
Since then, Vincent Bellunita had been confined to his room, or so the story went. It was known to the world that Baron Vincent Bellunita had been injured at a party and was recuperating.
There were rumors that Vincent was involved in the incident because the assassin was a servant of the Bellunita family, but they soon ended as rumors. It was discovered that the assassin was only wearing the Bellunita family's servant uniform and was not actually a servant. However, the identity and purpose of the assassin were never discovered.
In the end, Vincent went blind, and that fact was a secret that even the servants of the mansion did not know, except for a few key aides. That is why I have to serve him alone. And secretly.
Confidentiality. That was one of the conditions I had to meet in order to work as a servant here. Never reveal anything that happens here. I nodded and signed the contract. It also implicitly meant that I agreed to the things that would happen if I revealed anything.
It didn't matter anyway. I just thought I should do well. But I realized that serving Vincent was more, much more, much, much, much, much harder than I thought.
"Take it all out!"
Crash, the twelfth plate met its end. I secretly sighed as I looked at the shattered pieces of the plate. As soon as I bent down to clean up the shards of glass, glasses and cutlery were scattered on the floor.
"Get lost!"
His appearance, wrapped in a sheet, was no different from a cat. A cat that was on high alert, as if to say, "How dare you try to tame me?"
There used to be stray cats in front of Mark's bakery. Among them, there was one cat that seemed to get thinner every time I saw it, and I felt sorry for it, so I secretly tore off a piece of bread and gave it to it. At first, the cat was wary, but one day it slowly approached and took the bread to eat, and later it purred and rubbed its face against my hand.
But he was too big to treat like that cat, and he was a grown man. I gathered the broken pieces and cutlery on a tray and looked at Vincent.
"I will bring it again."
"I don't need it. Get out of here."
"If there is anything you want to eat, please tell me. I will ask the chef."
"I just don't need you."
"Then I will leave it in the room."
"I said I don't need it!"
Vincent screamed and cowered. I scanned him up and down without answering. His hair was a mess, and the clothes he was wearing were stretched out and looked dirty with something on them. The sheet he was sitting on had also turned slightly yellowish, as if it hadn't been changed in a while.
"I need to change the sheets too. And your clothes. It would be good to take a simple bath. I will prepare the bathwater."
"Get out! Get out!"
Aaaagh! A fierce shout erupted. It was so loud that it echoed in my ears. He must be hoarse every day from shouting like that. Nevertheless, the venom does not subside. Rather, it seemed that the venom was increasing day by day.
I suppressed my rising emotions several times a day. I've been living comfortably all this time. I'm already so tired. I shook my head and took a breath.
I was used to the nasty tempers of the upper class. No, it's not just the upper class. Most of the people who hired me had that attitude. I had been subjected to all kinds of contempt and insults because I was poor and a woman. The Devil spawn's family was no different.
I endured all of that and survived. Don't look down on me just because I'm poor!
"I will bring it again. Please wait."
And I left the room without looking back.
As soon as the door closed, I heard something crashing. Was it a pillow? I imagined the object that the sound seemed to be and sighed deeply. I deliberately stomped my feet on the floor as I walked away.
