The Baddest Villainess Is Back
Chapter 33
“Where on earth have you been!?”
Bayan’s fist came down with a thud on Batar’s head.
“Do you have any idea how much mother and I looked for you… just how much we searched!! How could you run away from home leaving nothing but a note like that!”
“Waaaah! It hurts! That hurts! I’m sorry. I only planned to stay away for a week!”
So, he wasn't incapable of using formal speech.
It was clear he simply chose not to use it with Roselyn.
“But… Uncle, no… that bastard ‘Jambaga’ kidnapped me!”
“……What?”
The look of relief on Bayan’s face hardened instantly.
Perhaps because the Vice Chief’s expression had turned so rigid, the other Kaluta warriors who had come out with him also stiffened.
“But who am I! Am I not the proud son of the Khan and your little brother? Anyway, I managed to escape halfway, but…”
Batar had been speaking vigorously while thumping his chest with his small fist, but his voice trailed off as he began to fidget with his fingers.
Realizing that Bayan’s patience was wearing thin, Batar swallowed hard.
“The thing is… I was caught by some Imperial slave traders and couldn't make it back.”
The atmosphere turned ominous.
The sudden surge of bloodlust was enough to take one's breath away.
For the first time, Roselyn realized that killing intent was something that could actually be felt physically.
“At first they gave me food, so I ate it gratefully. How was I supposed to know they were bad guys…! I never dreamed they would be!”
Batar raised his voice as if it were unfair.
Sensing the murderous tension, the boy quickly waved his hands and continued speaking.
“Anyway… I was about to be put up at an auction or something… but Roselyn saved me.”
“……Saved you?”
“Yes, she paid a fortune to buy me, got me out of that filthy place, and brought me all the way here. She is a truly magnificent woman!”
“……Wow.”
The 2nd Prince, Yuldian, who had been quietly watching the situation unfold, rubbed his arms and looked at Roselyn with a disgusted expression.
“See? I told you it was all calculated. It’s all an act.”
His low mutter was loud enough to be heard. Roselyn simply shrugged her shoulders.
“……I see.”
Bayan murmured in a low, sinking voice.
“Seize Jambaga and all his kin. If there are any tribes that communicated with him or hid him, summon them all.”
“Yes, Vice Chief.”
“And find Jambaga.”
“Ah, about that. That’s the second gift.”
Roselyn raised one hand and spoke as she peeked out from behind Arma, who had stepped in front of her to protect her.
“……The second gift?”
Bayan looked at Roselyn with surprised eyes.
“Yes.”
At Roselyn’s light gesture, other Imperial Knights dragged a pitch-black sphere out from the carriage.
The black sphere was suspended in the air, held by thick chains.
“This.”
“……What is that?”
Roselyn took something out of her pocket and flicked it toward the sphere.
Pop—!
In an instant, the black sphere popped like a soap bubble, and two people tumbled out from within.
“H-Hyaaaakh!! Aaargh! Aaaah!”
One man began to thrash about, screaming.
His eyes were half-unfocused as he swung his limbs wildly in every direction, displaying considerable brute strength.
It seemed even a disgraced Kaluta was still a Kaluta.
The man who had been guarding the one who tried to buy Batar from Roselyn sat there blankly, staring at the sky with a hollow gaze.
One of his eyes looked dead, the pupil cloudy and discolored.
“This looks like the Abyss.”
Bayan murmured quietly.
Roselyn watched as the Kaluta warriors effortlessly subdued the middle-aged man who was rampaging with his superhuman strength before she spoke.
“While I was trying to save Batar, they said they wanted to purchase him.”
At Roselyn’s words, Bayan’s lifeless, dry eyes turned toward her.
“So, with the help of someone else at the auction house, I captured them. If I had been even a step later…”
Boom!
Before Roselyn could finish her sentence, Bayan stomped his foot.
The ground indented deeply.
Despite the fierce glare directed at her, Roselyn did not stop speaking.
“Batar would already be dead.”
No sooner had she finished her words than Bayan’s silhouette vanished from in front of her.
“Uncle, why did you do it?”
Jambaga still seemed out of his mind.
Making bizarre noises while being held by the Kaluta warriors, he was hoisted into the air by his throat as Bayan grabbed him.
“Vice Chief, he doesn't seem to be in his right mind. He can't hold a conversation even when spoken to…”
“I see.”
Bayan laughed savagely.
The boy, laughing with his lips pulled back beneath a murderous gaze, looked more like a fierce predator than a human.
“Then I just have to bring him to his senses.”
While clutching the man’s throat with his left hand, he gripped the man’s left bicep with his right.
Crack—.
And then, he mercilessly twisted the arm he held.
“AAAAAAAAAGH!!”
Holding the man by the throat, the boy finally tore the man’s arm clean off.
It was a monstrous strength that could hardly be described as human.
A fountain of crimson blood erupted into the sky.
“……I will report this to the Khan myself. Apply basic treatment and then throw these things into the dungeon.”
The boy commanded, tossing the hunk of flesh in his hand to the ground.
The 2nd Prince, Yuldian, had turned pale as a sheet; unable to even step back, he simply broke out in a cold sweat.
In the midst of it all, Roselyn stared calmly at the man who had fainted and was convulsing, unable to even scream.
She did so because in the future where that man, who killed Batar, was left alone, the Empire and Kaluta would go to war.
War breaks out because that man, like a treacherous villain, pinpoints the blame for Batar’s death entirely on the Empire.
“I have shown you a sight you shouldn't have seen at our first meeting. I shall greet you properly later. For now, please go and recover from your journey.”
Bayan, covered from head to toe in his uncle’s blood, spoke to Arma and then bowed deeply to Roselyn.
“Thank you for saving my brother. However, given the circumstances, may I offer my formal thanks later?”
“Yes, I understand.”
“I will send someone to guide you shortly. Please wait a moment.”
At Roselyn’s reply, Bayan spoke with a bright smile.
The sight of him stained red with blood was somewhat horrific.
He was the first to lead his people away.
Roselyn looked at Arma, who had protected her from the moment the killing intent was felt.
He was looking at her with a very strange expression.
“Damn it, hurry up and show us the way!”
It was then that Yuldian was venting his irritation at the maids with a pale face.
“Kyaa! What is this? These handsome men! Marry me!”
Someone ran up with such speed they were a blur, snatched Yuldian by the waist, tucked him into their arms, and then lunged at Arma.
Arma, with his quick kinetic vision, pulled Roselyn into his arms and immediately backed away.
“Oh my, the cool oppa is running away! How about the pretty unnie too? Want to be my concubine!?”
A half-naked girl in light clothing, her gold accessories jingling, shouted as she chased after Arma, who was retreating with Roselyn in his arms.
Overwhelmed by the chaos, Roselyn covered her ears and squeezed her eyes shut.
‘Spouting personal history, a background check, and next is a proposal for a concubine.’
It was a total mess.
* * *
“I am Naryan! I’m the Khan’s only daughter and the youngest, and I’m twins with that idiot Batar whom the pretty unnie saved!”
The girl who failed to catch Arma, who had dodged her skillfully, eventually licked her lips with a disappointed look and guided them.
“Hey, put me down this instant?!”
Of course, Yuldian was still being carried under one of her arms like a princess.
“Oh my, your prickly and fierce personality is exactly my type. And you’re handsome to boot…”
With wavy silver hair falling to her waist, vivid green eyes sparkling with life, and smooth, tanned skin.
The young girl showed no sign of struggle even while carrying a man three heads taller than her with one arm.
Her protruding lips were strangely playful.
“And you’re even a Prince?”
She blushed.
“I love a fierce man who is promising, has clear convictions, and possesses masculinity.”
Arma flinched at Naryan’s words.
It was because he had heard those words somewhere before.
「I prefer someone who is a bit more promising, has clear convictions, and is a slightly fierce person with masculinity.」
Seeing Naryan licking her lips in regret, Arma shifted his gaze to look at Roselyn.
‘Could it be…’
Arma felt his mind go white, a rare occurrence, and he squeezed his eyes shut.
「If it’s alright for my brother, why can’t it be me, My Lady?」
「Because you are the opposite of my ideal type.」
It was because his brief conversation with Roselyn came to mind.
‘Then that ideal type is…’
Arma squeezed his eyes shut again.
「I will do it!」
「……Pardon?」
「I… will become a fierce person who has clear convictions and masculinity!」
「Ah. I see.」
「Yes.」
Even the memory of her looking at him with a face that didn't understand what he meant, only to nod later with a face of belated realization.
“…….”
Arma unintentionally fell silent at the unexpected truth.
