The Baddest Villainess Is Back
Chapter 12
There appeared to be at least twenty evening gowns alone, accompanied by a vast array of accessories and jewelry, along with over a dozen pairs of shoes.
“Is there a problem?”
“No, I can certainly buy them for you if that is what you wish, but…”
At Roselyn’s sharp tone, Geron Wilbrid shrugged nonchalantly.
“That’s a relief, as I happen to have no private funds of my own.”
She let out a scoff and gave a curt nod.
After slowly surveying the entirety of the spacious boutique and making her final selections, she finally took a seat on the sofa placed in the center of the room.
‘…Her eye for fashion is better than I expected.’
Pluie thought as she glanced over the dresses Roselyn had chosen.
From designs that weren’t trendy yet but were bound to be soon, to classic styles that enjoyed timeless love, and even designs that could be considered a bit excessive.
She had pinpointed almost every piece that Pluie considered excellent or into which she had poured her heart and soul.
‘…I heard she was incredibly insensitive to trends.’
But how did Roselyn look now?
What Roselyn wore was undeniably a black dress, a color everyone avoided.
It was a dress that would naturally make any young lady look drab and gloomy.
However, the combination of her ruby-red eyes, snow-white hair, and the crimson lipstick set against her porcelain skin created an allure that was more captivating than somber.
It was as if the dress had been made specifically for Roselyn.
Feeling her natural prejudices shatter, Pluie unconsciously caught her breath.
Pluie gestured to her assistants to quickly bring out fresh tea and refreshments before approaching Roselyn.
“Young Lady, I know you must be tired, but may I take your measurements? We need to alter the clothes to fit your frame.”
“Go ahead.”
Roselyn rose from her seat.
Pluie quickly and meticulously took her measurements and guided her back to her seat.
“I didn’t realize you were such a greedy person.”
Roselyn narrowed her eyes as she looked at the man she had met earlier at the Imperial Palace—a man who wasn’t particularly welcome.
“My wardrobe is empty thanks to a certain someone, you see.”
“Oh dear, I must apologize for that.”
He replied calmly with a low chuckle.
Geron Wilbrid.
Sure enough, it seemed he also possessed memories from before crossing over to this world.
“Now then, if your mood has improved, shall we head to my estate? It seems we have much to discuss—both what must be said and what we wish to say.”
At Geron’s words, Roselyn narrowed her eyes as she tilted her teacup.
Watching Roselyn sip her tea in silence, Geron maintained his faint smile.
To Roselyn, Geron had always been a difficult person to deal with.
The man, who looked much younger in his late thirties than she remembered, still spoke with the mannerisms of an old man and remained a perfect gentleman.
Now, the discrepancy felt even more jarring, to the point of being excessive for his apparent age.
After staring at his brown hair and violet eyes for a moment, Roselyn let out a short sigh.
“Young Lady.”
Roselyn looked toward Pluie.
“Where should I have these clothes and accessories delivered?”
“Send them to Roselyn Bellion at the Bellion Ducal House. I shall inform the butler.”
“Yes, I understand.”
Pluie spoke with a smile as bright as a blooming flower.
“Though they are still prototypes, since you have purchased so many items, I would like to gift you one dress if you would permit it… Would that be alright?”
“I would be grateful.”
Roselyn’s red lips curved into a smile as she nodded readily.
“Yes, then as alterations will take some time, I will prepare everything so that you may receive them all by next week.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
“And if any problems arise after you receive them, please contact me at any time. I will rush over immediately to look into it. Should you ever need a dress, just let me know and I will visit you personally.”
At Pluie’s unprecedented declaration, her assistants’ eyes widened behind her.
What kind of person was Pluie?
She was someone who never moved for anyone, save for the Imperial Family.
One had to wait a year after making a reservation to receive a custom dress, and no amount of money could buy a way to cut the line.
Since the boutique operated strictly by appointment, Roselyn and Marquis Geron should have technically been turned away.
Had Roselyn not barged in as she pleased and pointed out items to buy after a quick look, she too would have been politely escorted out by Pluie.
“The total comes to 823.8 million Ollang.”
However, money was a powerful thing.
Pluie spoke with a smile even more radiant than when she first made a name for herself and had high-and-mighty nobles lining up at her door.
“How would you like to handle the payment?”
At Pluie’s question, Roselyn looked at Marquis Geron.
Marquis Geron let out a chuckle and pulled a piece of paper and a pen from his inner coat pocket.
After scribbling something on the paper, Geron handed the rectangular slip to Pluie.
“Take this check to the bank, and they will provide the funds.”
Pluie’s eyes widened as she carefully accepted the paper.
It was the legendary blank check.
Furthermore, the amount written was even higher than the price she had quoted.
One billion Ollang.
A flustered Pluie looked at Geron.
Geron had already turned away from her and was extending his hand to Roselyn, who was seated on the sofa, as if to escort her.
“Consider it a pre-payment for the fine dress designs you will create in the future.”
It was a gesture implying that since he was providing an advance, she should ensure Roselyn received any good clothes that were produced.
Despite her shock, Pluie bowed deeply.
“Yes, I shall certainly do so whenever a masterpiece is completed. Thank you for your trust.”
Geron replied with a simple smile.
Roselyn looked at Geron with disapproval before clicking her tongue and placing her hand upon his palm.
‘…What exactly is the relationship between these two?’
Though of humble rank, Pluie had inherited a Barony and had attended several banquets.
However, she had never heard of any connection between Roselyn Bellion and Geron Wilbrid.
Roselyn, too, could feel the curious gazes coming from all around.
“Proprietor, was it Pluie?”
Roselyn, who was about to leave the shop under Geron’s escort, suddenly spoke with a smile.
“Ah. Yes, that is correct.”
“The dresses were of high quality. The designs were quite excellent as well.”
“Ah! Thank you!”
Pluie’s smile brightened at Roselyn’s somewhat dry compliment.
“Running a boutique like this, I imagine you see and hear many things…”
At Roselyn’s leisurely voice, Pluie raised her head only to freeze in place.
In contrast to her soft, smiling voice, her red eyes were utterly cold.
Those eyes were staring directly at Pluie.
Frozen stiff, Pluie hurriedly opened her mouth.
“Yes. However, the lips of our boutique are very tightly sealed. I will never do anything to disappoint the Young Lady.”
Pluie answered quickly, having caught on to what Roselyn was implying.
She felt as though she might suffocate under that gaze otherwise.
Only then did Roselyn nod with satisfaction.
“I see, that is a relief. I suppose I can trust you.”
“Yes, please do not worry!”
Pluie even clenched her fists as she spoke in response to Roselyn’s words.
“Then, we shall take our leave.”
As soon as Roselyn finished speaking, he bowed his head.
“Yes, thank you for your patronage! Please visit us again anytime. Our Pluie Boutique will always welcome you both.”
Watching that bowed head, Roselyn spoke once more.
“And this is just a bit of unsolicited advice from me, so feel free to ignore it if you wish.”
“Pardon?”
“Grim rumors are circulating from the south. It might be wise to consider changing your suppliers.”
Tinkle—.
“Uh… Excuse me?”
By the time Pluie understood the words a beat later and raised her head, Roselyn was already gone.
