Before the cult appeared, he entered the prison where the second poacher was held and killed him.
"What a scary woman. Still... in this line of work where finding a client you like is as hard as picking a star from the sky, that's good enough."
Every time he thought of Hayley, he felt chills and laughter at the same time.
"Well, where to now?"
Rango turned his back to Grandis and set off.
"Shall we go to the capital of Nieve? Holt is good too. Or Kasnatura? That's a bit far."
He had a guaranteed path. Holt, Nieve, and Kasnatura of the Three Kingdoms. He could go to any of those places and continue his life as an assassin.
But Rango didn't want to leave the border of the Contaminated Zone for the time being.
"Let's go to Selbon!"
He heard the inn food there is amazing. It's a rural mountain village, so there probably won't be any work, but if he hangs out with the lumberjacks, they might give him a job as a porter.
Rango's steps were light as he left Grandis.
