“By the way, is this the right way to the Knights Order?”
“I have no sense of direction. I thought you knew, Miss.”
“What?! You grabbed my hand and just ran!”
“Ah, I don’t know! Just run faster!”
A squeaking sound was heard in the distance.
Could it be Cave Monster?
“Uvis, did you go to the mine?”
“I was just walking, and then I saw a pitch-black cave. I was on my way to the dorm.”

Uvis said he saw a cave at first, so they must have gone around in circles and come back to the starting point.
She remembered the first time she encountered Uvis at the training ground, when he was running away in the wrong direction.

“Should we hide here?”

Marin pointed to the sign.

Uvis looked at the cave with a horrified expression.

A large black Shadows was approaching.

She knew that Cave Monster looked like rats but were as big as large dogs.
It was true that they looked like rats with their pure white glowing eyes.

The enormous Cave Monster slowly approached, its pure white eyes shining.
Uvis stood in front of Marin, as if to shield her, and drew his Sword.
“Please hide.”

As the howling Cave Monster stepped on the ground with its front paws and jumped high, Uvis swung his Sword horizontally.

The Cave Monster rolled on the ground, screaming in pain.

The screams of the Cave Monster, dripping with blue blood, made other Cave Monster cry from the cave as if they had received a signal.
“Squeak.”
“Squeak.”
Monster were gathering.
“Miss, run away first. This guy looks like he’s about to die soon, so I’ll take care of him and follow you.”
“What are you talking about?”
“You know I’m good at fighting. I’ll take care of it quickly and go.”
Uvis joked and smiled faintly.
Blood was dripping from his thigh where the Cave Monster had bitten him.
Monster would be gathering soon, and with his leg like that, he wouldn’t be able to run.
What should she do? Her heart was pounding. She had the illusion that she could hear the sound of Monster running closer.
Marin finally thought of El. Why hadn’t she thought of calling her sooner, like an idiot? She was so busy running with Uvis that she forgot about El’s existence.
“El!”
El’s voice was heard from the black bushes.
“Yes.”
“Go call the knights and protect Uvis.”
“I cannot do that. I have orders to protect you, Miss…”
“Then I’ll stay here with Uvis. Uvis can’t fight right now, and can El handle all those Monster alone?”
“I can, but it’s impossible while protecting both of you.”
“So, fight while protecting only one person. I’ll go call the knights quickly, so just hold on until then.”

El avoided answering.

Marin called her sternly.
If she didn’t help in the end, she would stay here. There was no way she could leave Uvis alone and run away by herself.

A Cave Monster that jumped out of the bushes blocked her path.

Marin jumped into the bushes to go around. She slashed the bushes that came up to her waist with the dagger and ran forward, but she felt the ominous energy of the Cave Monster right behind her.
Marin ran towards a large tree and leaned her back against it.
If the Cave Monster attacked erratically, she thought she could block it if she protected her back.
The dagger in her hand trembled. She felt the heavy weight of the dagger.
The dagger the butler gave her was light. She should have brought that one.
“Squeak.”
Perhaps sensing that she was scared, the Cave Monster approached leisurely.
Marin swung her arm wide to threaten it with the dagger in her hand.
Distance was important, as her teacher had said, but she was sorry that she only had a dagger.
“Squeak.”
“That rat is mocking me.”
Marin gritted her teeth and glared at the Cave Monster.
While staring intently at the Monster’s pure white glowing eyes, she thought of Gerald, who was not here.
The Duke’s eye color was similar to that color, but it was a more mysterious silver.
“Gerald, please come and save me. You’re the male lead. You have to appear with a bang at times like this.”
“Squeak.”
The Cave Monster mocked her and came closer.
Okay, it’s all or nothing. Whether she dies like this or like that.
Marin threw the notebook she was holding in one hand towards the Cave Monster. The Cave Monster didn’t dodge and was hit squarely.
