Chapter 96
17. Dice Game
It was an obvious result, but since I possessed Mana instead of Divine Power, I couldn't be of much help to Luzef.
"Useless as expected."
Asdal's blunt remark deeply wounded Luzef's feelings, and he went up to the second floor, not coming down for a while.
He had been reluctant to go up to the second floor since the Tarantula monster appeared, but he goes up there just fine in times like this.
"Lady Flone, focus."
I was standing in the clearing in front of the cabin, lost in thought, when I snapped back to reality at the stern voice.
Asdal tapped my forehead with the branch he was holding.
"Too many wandering thoughts."
"I've always been lacking in focus."
"It's alright, Margaret."
Enoch quietly encouraged me. Feeling grateful for no reason, I took Enoch's hand with the hand wearing the ring and held it tightly. A man with good manners is the best, after all.
Asdal stood between Enoch and me, coaching me on Mana manipulation with a serious face.
Of course, Kaiden could explain Mana manipulation more accurately, but it was better to practice Mana manipulation for even one more day rather than waiting for him to return.
Since I hadn't even found a way to escape, I needed to quickly grow stronger to survive as safely as possible, even for just one more day. Besides, the Monsters were even evolving.
I pursed my lips and took Enoch's hand again.
Sending and injecting Mana into someone else, rather than using it directly, was a more difficult and delicate task than I thought.
I had to gather the formless substance flowing within me and move it...
'Huh? It's not as difficult as I thought.'
This task was said to be difficult even for those who freely manipulate Mana.
However, I could move Mana freely as I pleased very easily. But if I showed that too obviously, it would also look suspicious, right?
So, I deliberately acted like it was difficult, showing the kind of reaction that a normal person would. Intentionally scattering the gathered Mana, and so on, making it look a bit difficult.
"Wouldn't it be faster to learn Magic if we're going to do this? It would be much faster to deploy a magic circle and inject Mana into it."
I glanced at Asdal and complained again that it was difficult. Asdal shook his head firmly at me.
"Using Mana only requires mastering the manipulation, but Magic is different. Prioritizing injecting a vast amount of theories into your head is more important. Lady has seen Wizards draw magic circles, right?"
I was just trying to make it look difficult, but Asdal said things that were absolutely right, so I had nothing more to say.
As he said, to use Magic, unless you were a genius Wizard like Kaiden who could complete formulas in his head and create magic circles with Mana alone, you had to draw the magic circles by hand, one by one.
The shapes of the magic circles were very complex, and the shape of the magic circle was completely different for each Magic you wanted to use.
"Even if Lord returns and helps Lady, is it possible to master Magic theories in this harsh environment?"
Everything he said was right. I decided not to resist anymore. And I diligently practiced Mana manipulation as Asdal told me to.
