Unlike us, who only went back and forth between the cave and the beach, Kaiden must have traveled around a lot, or so I guessed.
Kaiden shrugged.
“I haven’t seen any people. I only go around hunting Monsters in the first place.”
“You could just avoid them, so why bother hunting? It’s dangerous.”
At my question, Kaiden stroked his chin and looked back and forth between Enoch and me with a thoughtful look. He looked like he was wondering whether or not to tell us what he was hiding.
He opened his mouth as if he had made a decision.
“There’s something I need to find out.”
“…Find out what?”
“It’s strange. Mana can’t be used on this island, but there are Monsters that are based on Mana.”
“…!”
I felt like I had been hit on the head by Kaiden’s words.
Why didn’t I think of that?
“There are more than one or two strange things.”
Enoch, who had been silent, answered as if he had been waiting. He rubbed his temples and continued.
“I went on patrol today and saw some incomprehensible words written on the cliff.”

The word Enoch wrote on the ground with a twig was none other than English.

I suddenly remembered the Flares I had picked up in the mountains and hurriedly rummaged through my dress pocket. Fortunately, the Flares were still there.

“I picked it up when I went to the mountains a few days ago… That firework that exploded in the sky. I set it off with this.”
“What, that was you? With this? How?”
Kaiden asked back with a surprised look. Enoch stared at me for a moment with a face that said he had a lot to say.
“I wasn’t trying to hide it. I just forgot because of this and that…”
I had forgotten about the Flares because Enoch and Kaiden had made strange confessions one after another.
“That this little thing made that firework, that’s amazing. How did you do it?”
Kaiden asked me again with a curious face.
“I didn’t know it was something that made fireworks either. I was touching this and that, and suddenly that came out…”
Kaiden finally took the Flares from me and examined the object from side to side.
I answered Kaiden’s questions faithfully, but Enoch, who was quietly watching me, asked.
“Is it a Magical Artifact?”
“I don’t know.”
I was about to answer that it was originally used to send a rescue signal, but it seemed to have been modified, but I swallowed my words. It would be strange if I knew the purpose of an object that no one else knew.
Kaiden opened the magazine, looked at the bullets, and looked at me with a surprised face.
“This seems to be a Magical Artifact. I can feel the Mana.”
There’s Mana, so it wasn’t a modern object? I narrowed my brows and looked at the bullets Kaiden was pointing at.
“It seems like it’s condensing Mana.”
Did Alea modify this with modern objects? That’s a possibility.
“When I pulled what looked like a trigger, the firework went off. The important thing is not that…, this.”
I showed him the word Alea written on the side of the Flares.
“I told you I learned the Eastern Continent language. This reads Alea, but it sounds like a person’s name. Could it be the name of the owner of this Magical Artifact?”
‘But what does the word Alea mean?’
Is it Latin or Greek? I’ve definitely seen the word somewhere. I think I learned the meaning of that word when I studied physical education in the past.
I tried hard to remember, but I couldn’t remember it at all, so I gave up. I’ll have to think about it again later.
“It’s clear that someone lived here before us.”
That’s why there were a cabin and a Bunker.
“Alea… We can’t rule out the possibility that someone lived on this island. There’s also the possibility that they’re still living here.”
Kaiden nodded at Enoch’s guess.
“The owner of that Magical Artifact might still be alive. The person who kidnapped us might be that person.”
If the person named Alea is the culprit, is this island really an island in Korea or some other country?
Maybe we’re trapped on an island used for experiments, like in a movie or drama, and we’re being experimented on.
But if that hypothesis is true, how are people from other worlds other than Earth here?
There were still only mysteries. I couldn’t be sure exactly what the name was, but still, ‘Alea’ was the first direct information I had obtained since waking up on this remote island and living here.
“We need to find more information first. It’s difficult to make an accurate judgment with this.”
Kaiden and I nodded at Enoch’s words.
“Yes. First, we need to clean up. The sun is setting.”
At my words, Enoch looked up at the sunset sky once and put out the fire in the bonfire.
After that night, Enoch’s hostile attitude towards Kaiden seemed to have softened a little.
But it was still the same that he was quick to be wary whenever Kaiden tried to approach me.
