Defending the Villain’s Innocence

One day, after living as a ruthless, money-obsessed corrupt lawyer, I woke up possessing Elena Christy—a broke extra in a romance-fantasy novel.

To escape a hell of poverty far more terrifying than actual hellfire, I decided to take on the defense of the world's ultimate villain: Grand Duke Benedict Richard, who was moments away from being sentenced to death for murder.

"We are in a contractual relationship, and that’s it. Don't harbor any other expectations."

He sure knows how to make a needlessly solemn speech about how there are no special incentives beyond the agreed-upon pay. It’s a contract marriage anyway, and the moment I cash in big, I'm divorcing him—so it doesn't matter!

...Or so I thought, but why do things keep getting so twisted?!

"......Somehow, it seems Elena Christy likes me."
